**Te kāinga rua | The opportunity**
Newly created leadership role, with significant scope to make a difference. You will lead a vast range of established Beca disciplines, operating throughout New Zealand in a growing practice area, and key strategic focus for Beca. In this Manager role, you will lead the team of Environmental, Sustainability, Decarbonisation, Air Quality, Ecology, Land Contamination and Environmental Assessment consultants across New Zealand. This role will have an outcome focus on delivering their business plan for the coming year, pulling together a geographically diverse and passionate team covering broad disciplines. You will manage a growing team of over 60 who combined are one of New Zealand’s leading environmental and sustainability related consultancy businesses, with the support of expertise across Beca’s broader business and areas of technical expertise.

Our Manager roles are busy, challenging, dynamic and rewarding where your abilities will be tested and developed, playing a significant part in developing our people, delivering strategy, ensuring delivery of client and project outcomes, and achieving operational and commercial goals. You will also play a business line leadership role across the wider Community Shaping business. You will be reporting to the Operations Manager, working with an established and growing leadership team to foster a common way of working and approach to market, for our clients to ‘make everyday better’.

As Manager, you will be playing a lead role pulling together and developing a team culture that focusses on purpose, ability, excellence, collaboration, diversity, hard work, fun and team work to deliver innovative and client focused outcomes for this section. Developing, retaining, attracting, and recruiting great talent will be an important focus area in this market. Bringing together and unifying a group of experts with a common purpose to create a high performing team will be key. You will also be responsible for mentoring and team development, ensuring accountability as well as the achievement of Beca’s commercial and financial performance goals.

**Ko wai koe | About you**

You will be excited and enjoy varied and broad roles, with this role providing plenty of scope for success to make a real difference for this team, this practice area, and influencing the delivery of great client outcomes. While previous specialist Environmental and Sustainability experience isn’t a prerequisite, it will be advantageous. As important though is your ability to be a relationship builder, able to operate with credibility in a leadership role across a multi-discipline business with a collaborative culture.

A true passion in developing others and creating a culture of empowerment will be important foundation for success. You will have people leadership abilities, known as a leader who ‘sets the bar’ in terms of culture and professionalism. You will inspire a positive working environment and you will know how to guide, develop, challenge, and inspire other professionals with experience in 1:1 development focused conversations.

You will enjoy a challenge, be action focused, display the ability to balance competing time commitments, and comfortable with making commercial judgements. You will be known for and keen to develop your broad management skills across strategy implementation, business development, operations, workflow delivery, financial management, and have a strong understanding of employment issues from a people leadership perspective.

This is newly created role is a unique people leadership role for an innovative and commercially astute professional with a collaborative approach.
