**About the Policy Teams**:
Regulatory Policy is responsible for the performance of three core functions:
- Regulatory Policy Design - which involves the provision of policy analysis and advice - including the development of regulatory interventions and advising on legislation and the design of regulatory instruments including maritime and marine protection rules
- Operational Policy Design - which involves the development, maintenance and implementation of operational policies that support other Maritime NZ groups to deliver and implement regulatory frameworks such as maritime and marine protection rules.
- Regulatory Reform Projects - which involves undertaking significant regulatory reform projects
**What you'll do**:
Working in either the Regulatory Policy Design or Operational Policy Design unit you'll be responsible for supporting the team deliver a range of policy work by maintaining work tracking systems, reporting on progress and undertaking important steps in finalising documents.
You will be a self-starter, innovative and always looking out for process/system improvements. As well as enjoying the autonomy of 'getting on with the job', you will be part of a supportive team committed to a positive and inclusive culture. You'll complete a small number of administrative task tohelp the three Regulatory Policy teams run smoothly. Please find attached the full job descriptions for the two roles.

**What we're looking for**:
- Relevant government experience in project coordination with experience supporting policy teams an advantage.
- Strong organisation and planning abilities.
- Ability to work and prioritise across multiple work streams.
- Proactive problem identification and solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify risks and issues
- Great networking and interpersonal skills with the confidence to build relationships across organisational and agency boundaries.
- An understanding of the machinery of government.
- Ability to work in a culturally safe and respectful manner, always being mindful of the cultural diversity of the industry and having regard to Te Ao Māori and Treaty of Waitangi principles
