**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
The Energy Markets and Resource Markets branches in MBIE are looking for superstar Personal Assistants/Team Administrators to provide support to our people leaders and teams. We are seeking self-starters with strong administrative and coordination skills.
We currently have openings in both the Energy Markets Business Support team, and the Resource Markets Programme and Branch Services team.
We are friendly and energised teams, where our PA/Team Administrators are pooled together alongside project and programme coordinators, and report directly to a Team Leader (Energy Markets) or Manager Programme and Branch Services (Resource Markets).
We have an ambitious and exciting work programme ahead to lead the energy and resource sector's transition to a low-emissions economy. The branches are responsible for providing robust strategic, policy and regulatory advice on energy markets, operational regulation, and compliance services.
These teams support their respective branches (Energy Markets Resources Markets), totalling around 150 people. Our branches have a great culture and are a positive working environment with meaningful connections.
You'll be responsible for things like diary management, monitoring of shared mailboxes, preparation of documentation, arranging travel, arranging workshops, meetings and minutes and processing contracts, invoices and accruals.
You will quickly shape this role to your style and ensure the office is running smoothly. We operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and we enjoy the challenge of working to meet key priorities and tight deadlines.

- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Is comfortable working independently without needing constant direction
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- A proactive working style and strong initiative
- Able to quickly pivot between tasks, use your initiative and prioritise effectively
- Skilled user of Outlook, Microsoft Office and other business systems (finance, HR)
- Ability to build strong relationships with others in order to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to work in a flexible and dynamic environment
- Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment
- Experience working in the public sector or councils would be an advantage
- Experience in providing personal and administrative support to managers and teams would also be an advantage
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
