In this role you will be responsible for overall accountability for the effective management and operation of Napier Municipal Theatre facilities, Health & Safety and security services, and the leadership of the Venue Assistants team in accordance with council’s policy, relevant legislation and community needs.

**This role is an operational leadership role that will include**:

- Manage and oversee the Building Management System (BMS) ensuring the environment is maintained to standards suitable for patrons and performers.
- Conduct regular quality assurance audits of cleaning, pest control and other contracted service providers ensuring quality and value expectations are being met
- Make recommendations to the Theatres Manager for building renewals and minor capital projects and assist with instigating and oversee the completion of these projects
- Contribute to the ongoing pro
- active support of health and safety strategies and policies.
- Contribute in a positive way to the NCC values, Te Kaupapa and the work environment.
- Ensure that rosters, where required, are maintained and the service delivery occurs without disruption on a day-to-day basis.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members.
- Manage casual staff whilst on site, including training and supervising casual staff in the use of theatre equipment, ensuring H&S obligations are met.

**To be considered for this role, you will have**:

- New Zealand Certificate in Entertainment and Event Technology (Level 4)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading others
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the management & coordination of building facilities, health & safety and security services
- Familiar with Health and Safety at Work Act 2105 and how it relates to the Theatre and Entertainment Industry
- Knowledge of regulatory and best practice requirements and legislation relating to building, facilities and security
