The remuneration range for this role is $119,000 to $167,000 p.a. depending on skills and experience
**The opportunity**
The purpose of the position of the Manager Treatment Operations is to ensure delivery of a safe drinking water supply to our region, and for wastewater treatment activities in the South Wairarapa that provide outcomes of safe water and environmental excellence to our communities. The position provides a relentless focus and accountability for ensuring effective fluoridation as mandated to enable the benefits to oral health for our communities.
This means ensuring that the treatment and supply of drinking water and wastewater is carried out efficiently, respecting our guardianship responsibilities for this natural resource and our environment and ensuring that we are fully compliant with our legal and regulatory responsibilities.
With strong relationship building, and people and intellectual leadership, you will drive for continual improvement and foster an organisational culture based on collaboration, innovation, learning and high performance.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- A relevant engineering, treatment or environmental qualification, preferably Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
- 10 years plus experience in process engineering, water treatment or similar
- Ideally 7-10 years management experience
- In-depth expertise in water and wastewater treatment
- Sound knowledge of the three waters sector, treatment maintenance operations, applicable legislation, and water standards
- Credibility and trustworthiness as a leader with sound people and influencing skills
- Strong financial and budget management and planning skills
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Full driver’s licence for a car
