**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Our Service Delivery division is looking for a Regional Operations Manager to lead a team of 4 Transport Supervisors, 40 Officers and 3 support staff, to support Auckland Transport's commitment to increase passenger safety and security whilst on the public transport network.
Through community engagement initiatives and compliance management techniques, this role will work to reduce levels of fare evasion, asset damage and increase safety on the public transport network.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing the strategy for the department
- Managing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as New Zealand Police, AT Metro, Fullers, Auckland One Rail, Emergency Services and the Auckland Transport Operations Centre
- Ensuring all Transport Officer and Supervisors conduct themselves to the highest standard
- Playing an active role in the ongoing development of the teams
- Operational decision making that will have a significant impact on the public
- Investigating events on the network both internal and external
- Developing high performing Supervisors to create a cohesive and professional operational unit
- Undertaking project work and process improvement
- Business development
**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
We are looking for a strong people leader with proven experience managing large teams. You will have:
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to build positive internal and external relationships
- Ability to work across a diverse geographical region, ideally in frontline, customer facing roles
- Experience building a driving a service first culture
- Experience dealing with a unionised environment
- Experience with high level of employment relations issues
- Previous compliance or regulatory experience advantageous but not essential
