**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We are looking for a **Senior Transport Planner **to join our Integrated Network Planning team, to produce content for innovative and customer-focused integrated strategic transport documents to guide the development of Auckland's future transport system.
The key task of the role is to lead the development of comprehensive parking management plans for precincts around the region. These plans will analyse kerbside and parking space and work with partners, stakeholders and customers to identify changes which will deliver on the Room to Move parking strategy, and deliver a better parking and transport system for Auckland.
The role will focus on collaborative working, building influence and providing advice to decision makers to help produce informed outcomes.
**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
Key skills and experience we are seeking include:
- Several years' experience in transport planning or transport strategy
- Able to work effectively and proactively in advancing Auckland Transport's position during multi-agency/party processes
- Understanding and knowledge of transport planning and funding, urban planning policies and local government processes (and legislative processes)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and numerate skills coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills - particularly to inform decision makers
- Strong interpersonal skills, driving results
- Preferably Geographic Information System (GIS) skills
