Manaaki Pūkenga works with ākonga / learners and kaiako / tutors across the organisation to support learner success. We have a commitment to education, and work with ākonga at every level, across all disciplines, to develop the literacies and competencies they need for study.

We are looking for a people leader, responsible for the effective leadership of Manaaki Pūkenga to ensure an engaged, high performing and flexible team. With the team, you will work across the organisation to create valuable opportunities for ākonga, kaiako and support staff, and manage the delivery and development of academic support programmes for flexible delivery.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Manaaki Pūkenga Student Learning Advisor team, ensuring all resources are in place for a quality learning environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience in developing and leading others in quality teaching practices
- A strong focus on equitable outcomes especially for priority learners that align to the ākonga journey and ākonga needs
- An approach to work that is systematic and well organised but will also see you flex up and adapt to changes in workflow or priorities as required.
- Highly developed communication and analytical skills.
- Initiative and be able to direct work on your own while also leading projects and getting the best out of those with whom you are working.
- Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A track record in managing complex relationships through change
- A passion for supporting students to persist in their learner journey and succeed
- An understanding of the tertiary education sector
- Reporting into the Director Te Kete Manaaki, you will become part of a close-knit team of diverse educational practitioners, committed to enhancing equitable outcomes for our ākonga. Work with us to ensure the delivery and enhancement of high quality and mana enhancing experiences that support the learner experience.
