Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Support Worker or House Lead to lead a team of support workers caring for young adults with intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting people with disabilities and/or challenging behaviours, and be able to work effectively as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of support workers in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans that promote autonomy, freedom, and a safe living environment.
  • Managing conflict and escalating situations in a fair and respectful manner.
  • Communicating effectively with the people you support, their families, and your coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a team and coaching/developing individuals.
  • Effective report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people with disabilities.
  • A relevant qualification or Cert 4 in Health & Wellbeing.
