A New Beginning: Supporting Refugee Families in Hamilton

In this rewarding volunteer role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of refugee families as they settle into their new home in Hamilton.
About the RoleAs a volunteer, you will work closely with a case manager and other volunteers to provide essential support and assistance to families. This may include tasks such as grocery shopping, transportation, and enrolling children in school.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome and orient the family to their new home and surrounding area
- Assist with everyday tasks and provide emotional support
- Connect the family with local resources and services
- Possess a passion for helping others and a commitment to supporting refugees
- Be available for a minimum of 3 months to ensure continuity of support
- Attend two training sessions to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for the role
- Undergo police vetting as required by the organization
