The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our District Nursing Service. As a District Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in their homes, working closely with allied health staff and other professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide advanced assessment, management, support, and education for wound management, compression therapy, IV management, palliative/end of life care, continence assessment, catheter management, ostomy management, acute personal care, home help, respiratory patients, and rheumatic fever secondary prevention prophylaxis.
* Work autonomously, making informed decisions based on clinical expertise and judgment.
* Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure effective communication and care coordination.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes and promote healthy communities.
Requirements
* Current New Zealand registered nurse practicing certificate
* Full current NZ driver's license with no restrictions
* Minimum of three years' experience as a registered nurse
* Excellent assessment skills and time management
* Ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously
* Sensitivity to cultural aspects and ability to apply Treaty of Waitangi principles to practice
