Whiria Te Tangata was developed in 2023 by a Tuwharetoa Nurse Practitioner, her hopes were to improve whanau engagement and ease accessibility to healthcare.We are a mobile clinic, facilitating free health care across Taupo and Turangi.
Our mobile clinics are based in Taupo center, Waitahanui and Turangi.
We operate four days a week in Turangi and two days in Taupo, therefore we are searching for a Nurse Practitioner to work an additional two days in Taupo as demand and patient enrolments continue to grow.We are offering part-time work 0.4 FTE - however we will extend these hours if required for the right candidate.Hauora Maori clinics offering primary health care services for all.
Both acute and long-term conditions, working with whanau across the lifespan.About the role:Treating day-to-day acute and long-term conditionsWorking independently with support of experienced RN's and kaimahiYou will be working autonomously with support from our wonderful team.
Opportunities to expand your role as required.
You will be using your therapeutic skills to diagnose and treat whanau who enter our facilities, more often than not our whanau have complex needs and require wrap around support in partnership with our social services.About you:New Zealand Nurse Practitioner endorsement and current Annual Practice CertificateExperience in primary health care or similarUnderstanding of Hauora Maori and commitment to understanding the principles of Te Tiriti o WaitangiEligibility to work in New ZealandYou will need a sound understanding of Hauora Maori and be able to work with vulnerable whanau.
There are no timeframes for appointments, time taken with whanau is dependent on their need.
You will be faced with many different challenges throughout the day, you will need an ability to adapt to some of the complex needs that our whanau present with.
