Director of Accounting and Finance

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Accounting and Finance to join our Resources Group. The successful candidate will have experience in a senior finance position within a large complex organisation, and a strong understanding of computer-based accounting applications and financial management systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing corporate financial accounting functions, mentoring and guiding your team, and developing the training and professional growth of your accounting staff. You will also provide support to Council Controlled Organisations and maintain the integrity of the financial reporting system.

To succeed in this position, you will have a tertiary degree with a major in Accounting or Finance, and be a member of CAANZ (or equivalent). We are looking for someone who is passionate about numbers and has a high level of expertise in financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate financial accounting functions
  • Mentor and guide a team of accountants
  • Develop the training and professional growth of accounting staff
  • Provide support to Council Controlled Organisations
