Intensive Care Specialist

**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Physician to join our team at Wellington Regional Hospital. As a Critical Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing expert care to critically ill patients in our 24-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Our ICU provides tertiary Intensive Care services for over one million people in central New Zealand, covering a geographic radius of 300 kilometres. We support six other public hospitals that have Intensive Care Units and one hospital that does not. To manage such a large area, we run a busy Flight Retrieval Service with the capability to provide Intensive Care-level retrievals around the clock.
The ICU is equipped to provide either Intensive or High Dependency level care to both medical and surgical patients. Our service is strongly consultant-led, with consultant ward rounds performed three times a day on weekdays and twice a day during weekends. We admit almost 2000 patients every year, with approximately 40% being elective cases.
As a Critical Care Physician, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans for our patients. You will also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and contribute to the development of our ICU's education program.
