We have a great opportunity for a reliable individual looking to gain further experience in the hospitality industry.

We are seeking an Executive Chef Assistant to join our friendly kitchen team at Sudima Auckland Airport Hotel.

This is a full-time role, 32 hours per week guaranteed minimum with the pay rate of $27.00 - $27.83 per hour.

Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa
  • Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing and room service on a day to day basis.
  • Organise the shift, placing orders, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift.
  • Support the Head Chef and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members.
  • Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers.
  • Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Prepare and cook food.
  • Understand and execute the food control plan.
About You | Ko koe tēnei

We seek team members with a great attitude. The following skills will see you succeed in this role:

  • NZQF Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).
  • Experience in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Planning and organizing skills and an ability to work individually and in a team.
  • Ability to multi-task, show flexibility and meet deadlines, work under pressure.
  • Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, late nights, and public holidays.
  • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g., grillers and pasta makers).
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks, excellent time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
