About the Role

We are seeking rural hospital medical specialists to work in both the Emergency Department and Inpatient Ward at our hospital in Taupo. As a member of our small competent and supportive team, you will provide 24/7 medical cover to a population of approximately 41,000. You will have the support of other medical staff such as nurses, medical students, and junior resident doctors.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will diagnose and treat patients in ED and outpatient clinics, through to discharge or stabilize and transfer patients to Secondary/Tertiary Hospitals when required.
  • You should be within 3 months of obtaining your Rural Hospital Medicine qualification and/or hold/be eligible for Specialist Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Salary Range

$142,000 to $267,980 pro-rated to hours worked plus Senior Medical Officer allowances.
