Job Description:

Auckland Council is seeking a skilled Senior Partnerships Specialist to join its Community Conservation and Engagement team within the Environmental Services department. The successful candidate will be instrumental in securing private and philanthropic partnerships that support positive environmental outcomes across Auckland.

The role involves identifying, securing, and growing strategic partnerships that increase investment in Auckland's natural environment, aligning with council's long-term conservation goals. This position directly supports the delivery of environmental projects and programmes, creating lasting benefits for communities, ecosystems, and future generations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Securing funding or investment through partnerships with a strategic mindset
  • Developing tailored partnership solutions using creative problem-solving skills
  • Fostering mutually beneficial collaborations with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Working with mana whenua, community organisations, not-for-profits, and private sector partners to achieve conservation goals

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, or business development
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and relevant qualification or experience in business, marketing, communications, conservation, sustainability, or commerce
  • A full and clean NZ Drivers' License
