We are seeking a skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Marine Protection Ranger. This role will focus on compliance, biodiversity monitoring, and marine operations within the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.
The Role
This position requires a strong boating and skippering background, with experience in ensuring vessels meet regulatory and safety standards. You will also be responsible for mentoring new team members and maintaining accurate records for audits.
You will play a crucial part in protecting marine biodiversity, ensuring compliance with conservation regulations, and maintaining the health of our marine ecosystems.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Strong boating and skippering skills
* Commercial vessel experience up to 20m
* Ability to maintain accurate operational logs and compliance documentation
* Knowledge of marine ecosystems and sustainable boating practices
* Understanding of New Zealand maritime laws and compliance
* Current Full NZ Driver License
