In this role, you will develop and implement strategies to enhance our responsiveness to Māori and build strong community relationships, ensuring alignment with our vision of Communities without barriers.

This key position involves:

  • Developing and monitoring the Cultural Capability Plan
  • Building team responsiveness to Māori through workshops and supervision
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with mana whenua in our communities
  • Providing cultural advisory support to the Board and leadership team
  • Ensuring policies reflect Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our values

We seek an individual with:

  • Fluency in Te Reo Māori
  • Deep understanding of Tikanga and Kawa
  • Strong community connections and mana within the Māori community
  • Experience in delivering disability or social services
  • Ability to develop and deliver training materials
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to disability rights and ethical practices
