Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand Southern Cross Group Full time

About the Role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse and Authorised Vaccinator to join our team on a casual contract through our peak flu season. This is an excellent opportunity for recently graduated registered nurses to gain experience and develop their nursing skill set in a 2–3 month contract role.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include administering flu vaccinations to well adults during the vaccination season, completing wellness checks in the workplace or in MedPro clinics, and working autonomously and within a wider team.

Our flu season shifts vary from 8 - 10 hours long due to the need for going to the office, packing your chilly bin, travelling to the workplace, setting up, providing the service, packing down, and travelling back to the office to unpack your chilly bin.

As part of Southern Cross Wellness Partners, we are working with the Southern Cross Health Trust to support more nurses, including recent graduates, into roles in the Southern Cross Healthcare network. Financial assistance from the Southern Cross Health Trust may be available for successful applicants to achieve additional certifications required for the role.

Key Requirements:

  • You will need to be flexible, friendly, and self-motivated
  • IT capability is a must
  • Own car & driver licence is essential
  • An Authorised Vaccinator or willing to become certified
  • Opportunities to travel within Aotearoa if requested & desired
  • Opportunity to develop a career in an ever-growing industry
  • Access to EAP support
