Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Coding Specialist to join our team at Teema Solutions Group. The ideal candidate will have extensive inpatient coding experience and a strong understanding of inpatient coding guidelines and regulations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for inpatient admissions, including diagnoses, procedures, and treatments, ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure appropriate code assignment for inpatient encounters and optimize reimbursement.
  • Ensure that all inpatient coding complies with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and internal standards.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of junior coding staff, helping them navigate complex coding issues.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and billing teams to resolve coding-related queries and discrepancies.
  • Perform coding audits and reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement in coding accuracy and compliance.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of inpatient coding experience, with a strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Experience with inpatient coding in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is required.
  • Knowledge of coding compliance, reimbursement processes, and medical billing.
  • Familiarity with Professional Billing EMR workflows and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
