About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Computed Tomography (CT) scanning team at Waikato Hospital.

As a key member of our Radiology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the best possible patient outcomes in a high-tech clinical setting.

You will work closely with radiologists and other Medical Imaging Technologists, providing expert care to patients before, during, and after various radiographic procedures in CT.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing care to patients before, during, and after a radiological procedure in CT, including CT scans of different body areas, CT colonographies, enterographies, and CT cardiac angiograms.
  • Working closely with the radiologists and MITs.
  • Inserting intravenous cannulas or accessing CVADs to inject iodine contrast and medications to patients.
  • Observing and monitoring inpatients and checking their intravenous cannulas prior to receiving iodine contrast.
  • Helping in patient transfers on and off the CT bed.
  • Responding appropriately in an emergency situation and ensuring emergency equipment is maintained in top condition.
