About the Opportunity

Fonterra, a leading dairy co-operative, is seeking an Environmental Compliance Lead to join its team. As a key member of the National Environmental Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the company's Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Framework.

This exciting opportunity offers exposure to various areas of Fonterra's operations, including coordinating the development of new EMS documentation, monitoring compliance, and providing support on environmental sustainability risks. You will be reporting to the National Environmental Manager and work closely with site Environmental Managers and Advisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the development of new EMS documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor environmental data through the Environmental Data Management System and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop, write, and review environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide targeted support on environmental compliance and sustainability risks to site teams.

About You

We are looking for an individual with a tertiary qualification in science, environmental management, or equivalent, and at least 5 years' experience in environmental roles. Your sound understanding of EMS principles and demonstrated experience with environmental risk identification and control are essential skills for this position.

A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be comfortable working across multiple areas of the business and building relationships with colleagues, managers, and external partners.
