- **About the opportunity | Te whai waahi**

Joining our Waitoa site as an Environmental Operator means you’ll be a part of our highly engaged Environmental Team and manufacturing site. You will be playing a key role to ensure we remain environmentally responsible (kaitiakitanga) and compliant for the Co-op and the community that we operate within. This is a unique opportunity that will give you a great foundation to build your career on and will give you exposure to a variety of activities on site.Daily work will include working as part of the team Operators monitoring and operating our treatment plant to ensure river quality discharge is compliant with our resource consents. This will include a range of hands-on tasks, completing data entry, basic reporting and sample preparation. The team have extensive knowledge that they are keen to share, so you will be learning from some of the best.This role is rostered with 4 x 10.5 hour day shifts and 4 rostered days off, 6am - 4.30pm, with rostered oncall.This is a crucial role for the success of our site operation, so you’ll need to be a focused team-player who has strong communication skills and is agile to support a large manufacturing site.

This role is amongst an ever-changing environment so you will be adaptable, willing to learn and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. To succeed in this role, you’ll have an eye for improvement and great problem-solving skills.We are looking for someone with a genuine interest and curiosity about wastewater treatment and who is keen to learn.We want to hear from you if you:
- Consider yourself to be a strong team-player who is proactive, has a can-do attitude, and is prepared to get stuck in with a willingness to learn.
- Have good communication and relationship management skills.
- Are tech savvy in MS Suite and data entry, previous experience in SAP/EQual would be beneficial.
- Have hands on experience in a relatable industry, this would be beneficial.
- Have wastewater treatment experience, it is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Have a high degree of fitness and physical capability.
