About Us
We are the Counselling team in Te Kaupeka Oranga | Faculty of Health at University of Canterbury, a leading institution in New Zealand. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality education and research in the field of Counselling.
We are seeking a Clinical Educator to join our team who has a strong background in Counselling and education. The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in Counselling and be a member (preferably full) of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC).
The role involves teaching and supervising students in counselling education, as well as contributing to the development of the programme. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years post-qualification counselling experience including:
- Expertise in applying the Solution-focused brief therapy model
- Experience in and knowledge of supervision practices
- An active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga (protocols and processes), kawa (rules) of cultural practice and traditions as guided by mana whenua, Ngai Tuahuriri, and valuing Te reo Maori
- Experience in teaching and supervising students in counselling education
- A demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity and social justice
- Knowledge of counselling codes of ethics and legal frameworks in Aotearoa, including issues of confidentiality and privacy
