About Our Service
Our West Adult Community Mental Health Service provides assessment and treatment services for consumers aged 18-65 years with mental illnesses. We work closely with families/whanau and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care.

Role Overview
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting clinical excellence, undertaking specialist care, nursing leadership, education, workforce development, and contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within our service.

About You
To succeed in this role, you must be a registered nurse with a current practicing certificate from the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Experience working in an adult community mental health setting is essential, along with a relevant Post-graduate Nursing Diploma. Strong nursing leadership skills, communication skills, organisational skills, and personal motivation are also required. You should be able to use computers efficiently and possess a full driving licence with no restrictions.

Requirements
You will need to demonstrate:

  • Expert knowledge of adult community mental health nursing practices
  • Strong leadership and management skills to lead and mentor nursing teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Able to develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines
