About the Role

The New Zealand Government is seeking a skilled Pyschologist to join our team in Christchurch. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing effective and efficient psychological services to children and young people with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply a strengths-based approach to identify patterns or contributing factors that may be influencing learning, wellbeing and behaviour.
  • Enhance inclusive practices in early learning services, schools and other educational settings.
  • Collaboratively support progress with learner goals and provide professional support and guidance to schools, teachers, and parents/caregivers/whanau.
  • Assess, analyze, hypothesize, collaboratively plan, support and monitor the implementation of individual (or group) intervention plans for students who have additional learning needs.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a Master's level tertiary qualification, Post-graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology or Clinical Psychology or equivalent, and registration under the Health Practitioner's Competency Assurance Act. You must also have experience working effectively with children and young people and their families/whanau across a diverse range of settings.
