About Us

Hamilton City Council is a local government organization that owns and manages over 300 buildings across the city. Our facilities team provides in-house facilities management services to these properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and meet the needs of our community.

Your Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of Facilities Services, Compliance, and Supply contracts. This includes procurement, contract management, and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with our procurement team to ensure all services are procured in accordance with our Procurement Policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contracted services to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to scope contracted services and develop relationships.
  • Procure new services that achieve cost savings, operational efficiencies, and improved quality.
  • Monitor and report on contract financials, including cost escalations and variations.
  • Ensure onboarding of new contractors has minimal operational impact.
  • Audit contracts to ensure delivery of stated outcomes.
  • Manage non-delivery or non-performance issues.
  • Maintain professional relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure contracted works meet Council's safety standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in contract procurement and management.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Analytical ability and business acumen.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and anticipate requirements.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity.
  • Advanced written communication and presentation skills.
  • Financial analysis and modelling skills.
  • Experience working in local government preferred.
  • Experience in managing Contracts for Services in Facilities settings preferred but not essential.
