About NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB is seeking a highly skilled Medicines Optimisation Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the Medicines Optimisation Team, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, effective, and economic use of medicines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead on identifying, promoting, and sharing best practice in medicines optimisation.
  • Develop and deliver quality improvement initiatives to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals to provide specialist advice on medicines management.
  • Manage and lead a team providing prescribing support and input.
  • Develop clinical audit and provide specialist training to improve medicines use.
  • Deputise for senior colleagues as required.

Requirements:

  • Extensive post-registration experience working at a senior level in primary care and multi-sector environments.
  • Evidence of line managing staff and leading teams.
  • Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
  • Independent prescribing qualification or working towards obtaining one.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
