Mental Health and Addiction Specialist

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health and Addiction Specialist to join our team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. As a key member of our Raahui Pookeka Hauora Hub, you will play a vital role in providing intensive, personalised care to individuals with high needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess client readiness to change and identify immediate risk and safety concerns.
- Design, implement, and evaluate alcohol and drug groups and educational programmes tailored to individual strengths, needs, and preferences.
- Facilitate client access to addiction interventions, providing intervention or referrals as needed.
- Recognise and respond to co-occurring physical and mental health issues.
**About You:**
- Competency in Te ao Māori principles and Maatauranga Māori approaches is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working with high-need individuals or whānau experiencing significant mental health and addiction problems.
- A strong desire to work from a Te ao Māori perspective, balancing cultural and clinical perspectives.
