A strategic opportunity awaits an experienced Senior Policy Advisor for a six-month fixed-term role. This position is ideal for someone with in-depth knowledge of the public sector, a keen understanding of risk management, and expertise in legislative design.

In this role, you will provide critical economic, financial, and regulatory advice that directly influences government decisions. You will be involved in drafting regulations, assessing and managing potential risks, and developing strategic insights that enhance New Zealand's resilience and stability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver strategic advice on economic, financial, and regulatory policy with a focus on identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Contribute to legislative and regulatory drafting, embedding risk management principles to ensure sustainable outcomes.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government agencies and ministers, to deliver informed, risk-aware recommendations.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Strong expertise in economic or financial analysis, preferably within the public sector, with experience in legislative design highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to integrate risk assessment into policy and legislative frameworks, anticipating challenges and proactively managing them.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex, risk-informed insights clearly and persuasively.

This role requires a strong understanding of risk management principles and their application in a public sector context.
