Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Permissions Treaty Advisor to join our team at the Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai. As a key member of our Permissions Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that activities on public conservation land are undertaken in a manner that protects the values of the land and complies with legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treaty Advice: Provide advice to Permissions Advisors and decision makers to ensure we are giving effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development of operational policy and best practice in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Complex Analysis: Analyse large amounts of complex information to produce high-quality reports and succinct recommendations.
- Caseload Management: Experience and skill in managing a busy caseload is necessary.
