Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Otago Regional Council Full time

**About Us**

The Otago Regional Council is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the environment, while enabling our communities to do the same. We are an evolving organisation with big targets to reach, and we need the right people in the right roles to help us achieve them.

Otago is a unique region, covering a vast area of mountains, coastal lowlands, dramatic rivers, and wild beaches. Our environment is part of who we are, and at ORC, we work each day to look after it.

**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a highly skilled Catchment Action Analyst to join our Environmental Implementation team on a full-time permanent basis in our busy Dunedin office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and monitoring catchment action plans, with a focus on leading the development and ongoing maintenance of spatial systems.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Collating and analysing GIS data to inform the development of catchment action plans, including baseline catchment data, spatial representation of values, and prioritisation criteria.
  • Designing and implementing a monitoring, evaluation, and reporting framework for CAPs, including contributing to the development of a spatial database.
  • Coordinating and providing input to an online portal for public access to CAP information, progress, and outcomes.
  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting of CAP progress.

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in environmental management, resource planning, catchment studies, geography, or GIS. You will also have at least 5 years' experience in a related field, with expertise in developing large-scale environmental plans.

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment, where everyone can thrive. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the environment, and you have the skills and experience to excel in this role, we encourage you to apply.

**What We Offer**

We offer a range of benefits, including flexible work opportunities, life insurance, superannuation, and competitive remuneration packages. Our goal is to support your well-being and success, both personally and professionally.
