Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our specialist service, providing psychological care to young people involved in the justice system. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development and experience in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions.
About Us: Tu Maia Regional Youth Forensics is a leading provider of specialised mental health services for young people. Our team is committed to supporting the holistic well-being and rehabilitation of at-risk youth through evidence-based interventions and comprehensive mental health care.
Your Role: As a Clinical Psychologist with our team, you will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, develop and implement individualised treatment plans, and prepare forensic reports. You will also collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the ongoing development of our specialist service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including risk assessments for self-harm, harm to others, and vulnerability.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy and behavioural strategies.
- Prepare forensic reports, clearly communicating complex psychological concepts to legal professionals.
- Build strong therapeutic relationships with young people, taking into account their developmental stage, cultural background, and individual experiences.
Requirements:
- Registered Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years' experience in child and adolescent mental health service.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Experience in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
