Mental Health Leadership Position

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Te Toka Tumai in Auckland. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality mental health services to our community.

About the Role:
This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) with flexibility available for the right candidate. You will be working across our four adult community mental health centres, Manaaki House, Cornwall House, Taylor Centre, and Kainga Tiaki, providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental ill-health.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage complex mental health needs of service users
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with service users, their families/whānau, and local communities
- Provide episodic care and home-based treatment options as needed
- Support the development of leadership skills in our Consultants Psychiatrists and contribute to formal leadership positions
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and a current Practising Certificate or eligibility for registration
- Experience and interest in providing high-quality services to service users experiencing moderate to severe mental ill-health in a community setting
- A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- A full and clean driver's license for community work
