Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, therapy, and interventions for children and adolescents experiencing various emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges.
  • Provide counseling and support to parents/caregivers and families addressing emotional needs and dynamics within the family system.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Offer therapeutic interventions and strategies tailored to the developmental needs of children and adolescents.
  • Provide psychoeducation and support to families regarding mental health, coping strategies, and child development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including schools, social workers, and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registration with relevant Practicing Board in New Zealand.
  • Current Practicing certificate in relevant field of Practice in New Zealand.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance strongly recommended.
  • Must be a New Zealand Resident or Citizen with a right to work in New Zealand.
  • Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a therapeutic capacity.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health disorders, and family systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • A commitment to providing culturally competent, inclusive care.
  • Experience with evidence-based approaches, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Family Therapy or other relevant evidence-based approaches.
