Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our specialist service at Tewha Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based interventions and comprehensive mental health care to young people involved in the justice system.

About the Role:

  • You will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including risk assessments for self-harm, harm to others, and vulnerability.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy and behavioural strategies.
  • Prepare forensic reports, clearly communicating complex psychological concepts to legal professionals.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with young people, taking into account their developmental stage, cultural background, and individual experiences.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, lawyers, and law enforcement officers.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals within the youth justice system.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our specialist service.

Requirements:

  • You will be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years' experience in child and adolescent mental health services.
  • You will have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
  • You will be experienced in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You will be a team player with a commitment to collaboration.
