Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Conservation Policy Advisor. As an Advisor/Senior Advisor Treaty Negotiations, you will be responsible for representing DOC in Treaty of Waitangi settlement negotiations and leading the development and delivery of Treaty settlement conservation redress.

About the Role

  • Represent DOC in Treaty of Waitangi settlement negotiations
  • Lead the development and delivery of Treaty settlement conservation redress
  • Work closely with Treaty partners and other Crown agencies
  • Wellington, Auckland, or Northland locations considered

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Representing DOC in Treaty of Waitangi settlement negotiations
  2. Liaising with Treaty partners and other Crown agencies
  3. Developing and delivering Treaty settlement conservation redress
  4. Providing advice on complex issues
  5. Collaborating with senior officials and Minister

About You

  • You have a solid reputation as a trusted advisor
  • You bring a breadth and depth of experience in negotiations or the Treaty Settlement Process
  • You have highly developed written communication skills
  • You have exceptional collaboration and relationship management skills
  • You have a sound understanding of te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $79,656 - $100,639 (Advisor), $92,450 - $116,985 (Senior Advisor)
