**Job Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Policy Advisor to join our team at the Ministry of Maori Development. As a Policy Advisor, you will play a key role in developing and implementing policies that support the well-being and development of Maori communities.

In this role, you will work closely with government agencies, iwi, hapu, and whanau to understand their needs and develop solutions that address their challenges. You will also provide mentoring and coaching to junior staff members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies that support the well-being and development of Maori communities
  • Work closely with government agencies, iwi, hapu, and whanau to understand their needs and develop solutions
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to junior staff members
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Requirements:**

  • 5+ years of experience in policy development and implementation
  • Strong understanding of te ao Maori and its principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
