A fixed-term position until August 2025, located at Taranaki Base Hospital with travel to the South as required. Suitable for a Clinical Psychologist with a current New Zealand APC.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our passionate Child Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in Taranaki. As a skilled Psychologist, you will be dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people facing mental health and behavioral challenges.

You will guide our youth and their families on their healing journey within the community and integrated care model. Enjoy opportunities for professional growth and ongoing support while working closely with children aged 0-18 and collaborating with Paediatricians, inpatient facility staff, and Non-Government Organisations.

To make a meaningful impact by leading the way to brighter futures for our youth, you will:

  • Undertake assessments, formulate and plan goals with children, young people and their whanau.
  • Provide client-centred care, utilising evidence-based therapies and strategies.
  • Coordinate care at the right time with input from the wider team and external providers.
  • Provide Psychology consultancy and support to the wider team.
About You

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with a current New Zealand Practicing Certificate. You must have a passion for Mental Health Addictions, exceptional interpersonal communication skills and experience undertaking neuropsychological assessments and interpretation.

A preferred candidate would have experience within specialist Child Adolescent Mental Health. Excellent assessment, communication relationship building skills and flexibility to work autonomously as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential.

You must also understand and apply the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi with a culturally safe and appropriate approach to practice.
