Job Description

\

As a Medical Care Specialist with Wellpath, you will work under the supervision of a Health Services Administrator or higher medical professional to provide medical care and treatment to inmates. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting daily sick calls, carrying out treatments, and following standardized procedures and protocols.

\

You will also participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.

\

Key Responsibilities

\

Conducting daily sick calls and treating medical emergencies

\

Providing emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinating patient transfers to appropriate facilities

\

Treating and managing non-psychotic behavioral health disorders

\

Participating in Quality Management and Peer Review activities

\

Required Skills and Qualifications

\

A Master's program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs

\

Previous correctional/detention facility experience

\

Unrestricted current license, certification, or registration in state of practice

\

Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration

\

Lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA

\
