About the Counsellor Role

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at Habit Health's Victoria Street branch in Hamilton. As a key member of our EAP, you will provide empathetic support and guidance to employees facing work-life issues.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions to empower clients with coping strategies for work and life challenges
  • Provide support during critical times, visiting worksites after event disruptions
  • Offer flexible counselling services through in-person, video, and telehealth platforms
  • Design and deliver training programmes for employees on various topics
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of human experiences
  • Current professional registration with relevant bodies (NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB, or NZCCA)
  • Tertiary-level Counselling or related qualification (Level 7)
  • Desirable experience in areas like psychological first aid, couples counselling, and working with children and teenagers
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy models (SFT, CBT, FACT) is beneficial
