About the Team

The Ministerial Resourcing team within the Department of Internal Affairs is responsible for ensuring Ministers' offices are suitably resourced with highly skilled staff who provide a high level of support to the Minister and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of their office.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Private Secretary (Executive Support) to Hon Shane Jones, Minister for Oceans and Fisheries, Regional Development, Resources, and Associate Minister of Finance and Energy.

In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Minister and his team, including drafting and responding to Official Information Act Requests, supporting with written and oral Parliamentary questions, and coordinating the Minister's diary.

You will also be responsible for planning and booking travel, providing cover for the Senior Private Secretary, and leading the wider office in delivering unrivalled service.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstrated experience in an EA/PA or team administration role, highly developed interpersonal skills, and a passion for politics.

Additionally, you will need to have a good sense of humour, the ability to work and problem solve at pace, and proficiency in Microsoft programmes.
