Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Wakari hospital, Dunedin. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for assessing client needs and assisting them in meeting their rehabilitation goals.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation. You will work collaboratively with the wider Allied Health, Nursing, and Medical team to provide cognitive rehabilitation, psychological support, and behavioral support interventions.

This is an excellent opportunity to work towards Neuropsychology scope of practice and contribute to the growth and development of our team. You will have access to regular team in-services, senior staff mentoring, peer review, and funding for courses and conferences.

About the Team/Service

">

Our team is an experienced and dynamic interdisciplinary team providing rehabilitation to diverse patients. The patient groups include stroke and traumatic brain injury, as well as other presentations such as tumours, hypoxic brain injury, functional neurological disorder, and orthopaedic injury.

We take pride in supporting our staff to grow and enable ongoing professional development. You will be part of a greater Psychology team and have the support of the wider Allied Health, Nursing, and Medical team.

  • Assessing client needs and developing individualized rehabilitation plans">
  • Providing cognitive rehabilitation, psychological support, and behavioral support interventions">

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills in neuropsychology and rehabilitation">

Requirements:

  • New Zealand Diploma in Clinical Psychology or overseas equivalent qualification">
  • Current practising certificate">
  • Significant experience with neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation">
  • Excellent time management and communication skills">
  • A strong understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge planning">
