Job Description:

MidCentral, a leading provider of mental health services in the lower North Island, includes Oranga Hinengaro, a specialist Kaupapa Maori Mental Health team. The purpose of this team is to improve the level and effectiveness of mental health services provided to Māori in the moderate to severe range.

Mental health and addiction services for Māori are a key area for positive change in Aotearoa New Zealand. Oranga Hinengaro, meaning mental wellbeing from Māori perspectives, strives for a future where mental health services are informed by the mahi and views of people with lived experience, as well as clinical and cultural perspectives.

We have a full-time, permanent position within our Kaupapa Maori Mental Health Team and are seeking applications from suitably qualified clinical psychologists with clinical expertise and a background in mental health. Key responsibilities include working in an environment where equity is valued in Kaupapa Services and developing Māori insights to work with whaiora and whānau Māori.
