Job Overview

Clinical Nurse Shift Leaders play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients within the Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit. As a leader, you will be responsible for allocating workloads, coordinating resources, and mentoring junior staff members to ensure the unit operates efficiently.

About the Role

  • You will provide coaching and leadership in managing acute situations and serve as a knowledge resource to others.
  • Grow the capacity of junior & overseas trained staff to deliver a high standard of care through coaching and mentoring.
  • Hold a portfolio in the Unit such as "Implementation of Feedback Informed Treatment" and work closely with our Clinical Nurse Specialist ensuring that best practice and care is maintained.

Requirements

  • You must be a New Zealand Registered Nurse eligible to work in Mental Health and have a current APC with a minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience, with a minimum of 3 of those years in an acute inpatient mental health setting.
  • Have competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
