About the Role:

  • This position involves working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Acute Response Team, providing urgent responses to mental health crisis in the community.
  • As a key member of the team, you will contribute to nursing knowledge and skills in assessment of health needs, planning and delivery of nursing care.
  • You will work alongside patients and their families to achieve maximum health potential that is meaningful to them.
  • The role requires advanced assessment and support skills, as well as the ability to lead quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • You will also engage in contemporary practice and quality initiatives for improved outcomes, with an equity focus on achieving improved outcomes for Māori accessing care.

About the Team/Service/Location:

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes provides healthcare services from its modern hospitals in Rotorua and Taupo. The district is known for its outdoor recreational activities, family-friendly beaches, and growing multi-cultural community.

About You:

  • You must be a New Zealand Registered nurse eligible to work in Mental Health with a current APC and a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in an acute mental health setting.
  • Ideal candidates will hold a post-graduate mental health nursing qualification at Masters level or be working towards that.
