We are seeking a Senior Citizen Activity Coordinator to join our team at Summerset Retirement Villages. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for creating a recreational programme that promotes dignity and independence through the therapeutic recreation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a recreational programme that meets the needs of seniors living in a care supportive environment.">
  • Lead a culture of purposeful engagement that empowers residents to make choices and maintain autonomy.">
  • Encourage residents to participate and engage in purposeful recreational programmes.">
  • Apply the APIED process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation) for individual or group recreational programmes.">
  • Quality control and quality assurance of recreational activities.">

Requirements

">

A passionate, flexible, self-motivated, innovative, energetic, open-minded individual with good communication skills and a willingness to learn. A Registered Diversional and Recreational Therapist is desirable, but not required. If you don't hold a DRT Licence, you must be willing to complete the NZQA Certificate in Diversional and Recreational Therapy.
