**Role Overview:**

This is a challenging and rewarding role working within the occupational therapy team in developing, coordinating, and delivering therapeutic occupations for patients with rehabilitation and recovery-focused approaches.

The Tangaroa Activity Centre coordinator will be responsible for coordinating daily activities, planning, designing, facilitating, and evaluating groups. They will also order resources, liaise with sessional workers and other agencies, and provide advice and guidance to the OT team.

The key priorities for this role include:

  • Coordinating the daily activities of the Tangaroa Activity Centre to provide a supportive environment for patients to build strengths and accomplish recovery.
  • Developing a program in consultation with the team leader and OT expert that provides a safe, relaxed, and sociable atmosphere, enhances motivation and socialisation, and offers opportunities for observation of mental state and occupational performance.

About the Team/Service/Location:

You will have the support of the Te Korowai-Whariki (TKW) Occupational Therapy expert and your line manager. You will be part of the TKW OT team, which has a supportive culture that is open to new ideas and service planning.

Tangaroa is a hub for all units within the campus, and as part of this role, you will work daily alongside another member of the OT team.

About You:

We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and services to patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to use Outlook calendars effectively.

They will also have experience working in mental health and rehabilitation settings, direction, and delegation, and be able to practice in a culturally safe manner.
