About Us

Auckland District Health Board is a major tertiary hospital that provides a wide range of healthcare services to the people of Central Auckland. We are part of Te Toka Tumai Auckland, which is responsible for providing health and disability services to over half a million people in Central Auckland.

Our Medical Oncology department is one of the largest in New Zealand, with a team of experienced medical oncologists, researchers, and support staff. We provide a comprehensive range of cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and targeted therapy.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Medical Oncologist to join our team. As a Medical Oncologist at Auckland District Health Board, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality cancer care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Conducting research and staying up-to-date with the latest advances in cancer treatment
  • Mentoring and educating junior doctors and nurses
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A FRACP qualification or equivalent, specialising in Medical Oncology
  • Eligibility for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for delivering high-quality patient care
